i ditched the cheap set-up i had and got the edelbrock pro-flo plate kit for the rpmII intake and the edelbrock nitrous controller, the 150 shot will be going through it, and i will have a good nitrous tune on it, but my question is with the nitrous conrtoller, will it be somewhat safe to launch on a 50 shot and then hit it with a 150, i know launching on nitrous isnt the best thing for a motor, but would a 50 shot actually do something

I've heard of alot of people doing what you are wanting - hitting only 50 on launch, then progressing to a higher dose as traction and speed improves off the line. I'm not an expert, but with so many doing it I would not think it to be unwise. Have fun experimenting!

yeah i dont even launch under 2500 rpm's and i have a TPS controller so the computer only activates the nitrous if i'm full throttle, i thought it would be somewhat safer than just punching it with a 150 all at once

if your tps works properly, than you can spray the 150 right from the get go, it'll just be alot harder on your car hah,
on my 94 gt, i just have a switch, but i never spray off launch, sometimes i bang second and hit it if my tires are crap

:) if i sprayed the whole 150 on the launch;i may as well save my time and beat the motor with a sledge hammer now :)

i'm taking all precautions: a controller to ease the nitrous in, tps controller so it wont turn on without it being full throttle, nitrous safty solenoid, fuel pressure safty, and an extra inline fuel pump to make sure the fuel pressure doesnt drop

My friend sprayed off the line on a stock 5.4 and didn't have any motor problems. Tranny didn't like if very much though

hit it withas much nitrous as the tires will hold of the launch! As long as you're jetted right, you're fine!!! I am goinng to be running a 75hp off the line and bringing on the second kit of a 175hp further down.

i think my tires will hold up pretty damn good, i just went to summit racing today and picked up a set of weld draglites, 2 - 15 x 8 and 2 - 15 x 3 1/2 and a new set of hoosier front runners and drag radials, the dr's are 275/50/15 and they say their 25 1/2" for height and 10.3" tread width, i wish i had a duel stage, that be cool, but with the nitrous controller it will spray whatever percentage of nitrous i want on the launch and add more and more nitrous every second untill it reaches full nitrous flow, i think im going to have it set to launch with a 50 shot and go to the full 150 over a period of time of maybe 5 or 6 seconds and finish the run with the full 150 spraying, the more i ask around and talk to people about it i think everything is going to go pretty smoothly

Estimate about how long it takes you to get second gear. You can be at full power then and the tires would probably hold it! I've hit mine with 125shot in first on Mickey Thompson at the track and it held it. You'll be surprised what those tires on a track will handle.

yeah my little ol automatic shifts at 5800 rpm's, it usually only takes a few seconds to get there (thank you 4.10's), i ran hoosiers last summer and loved them, when i went to summit; i talked to my friend thats the manager there and he said that hoosiers are the only tires that they dont get complaints about so i figured i'd get then again for the new set of rims i got, i was going to get MT'S again but the hoosiers just impressed me so much i figured i could spend the extra $20 for em, i thinik i'll start off the first run with how i mentioned before and then up it little by little to see how the car can handle it, i just got to keep in mind that i'm still running with the stock bottom end
