i had a opportunity fall in my lap. a good shape 66 coupe. it needs a paint job, interior, and windows done. but mechanical respectable shape.

*refreshed 289 bored .030 over w/ hyper pistons.
*edelbrock carb and intake package.
*t-5 trans
*lowered 2 in.
*patriot side pipes.
*kyb struts and shocks
*functional stock gauges.

my plans are to make it a good cruiser and minor car show whore. it needs love bad but im capable of doing it. id like to put on DD bullits in the rear w/ tinted windows. id also like to have a satin black paint job. im going to do the body work myself. ill let someone else paint it. i'll have help with welding a new trunk area in. id like to flat sheet metal the trunk area, remove the trap door and put in a fuel cell and electric fuel pump. im also going to clean up the wiring debacle.

I saw a cream-white colored 67 with a black vinyl top and big black steelies and big ass rubber in the back and it was sick as hell. Just an idea.

OP- Woot! Can't ever go wrong with a classic. Nice score.

It was a vinyl top but that's gone. Thank you, ill look into disc brakes. on a side note. i have the ole npi slug sitting in my exploder still that can probably take the place of the 289 if it breaks. ill gladly put pi heads and a carbed intake on it. im not scared.

Those shock towers will take a TON of work to shove that 4.6L in between them.

pushrods :icon_puke_r: if i was deciding to make it quick and a cool factor of "hmmm thats odd" id throw in the 2v and "do work". now i think if a 351 will fit in there my small 2v should. if i were putting a 4v in it as matt's maybe id have trouble. its a stock suspension and motor so ill let it ride the way it is til i find other things fall in my lap.

Modulars are big a*s motors physically. They're a SH*T ton bigger than any small-block Ford.

Mod on left and I believe that is a BIG block Ford on the right.

a 4.6 is not bigger than a big block. my gfs dad's 440 block is bigger than my 4.6 (without the cam covers on) im pretty sure that is a 351 or a 302

You may be right on that, here's another pic I dug up.

Regardless, the shock towers in the early cars are tight. They would have to be removed and another front suspension setup (Mustang II) used to squeeze that wide ass motor in there.
