Any 5.0s here using a kenne bell?

I go the the Kenne Bell site and I check the price list, for a GT 94-95, it's the TS1000-94, for a 6psi 2.2, the price is $3099.00, I was thinking that KB twin screw s/c for our Mustang was a lot more expensive then a Vortech, but it's around the same price.

couple 347 n 383 strokers, but nothing over 450hp

Are there any certain lower manifolds that wont bolt up to the KB on a 5.0? Or what would be an ideal one to get?

Your only options are either using the stock lower or the better option of a gt-40 style (as stated above) .. You must specify which intake you will be using when you order the KB blower. :thumb:

Well i was talking to a bunch of guys at my local hang out and there was a guy that had a 331 built kenne bell car and he said that he couldnt get over 500 rwhp. He said it was alot of fun to drive on the street but was not impressive at the track or against other cars and now he has a turbo on same block and is makeing over 700... This puts a damper on my thinking about putting a KB on it.. He also said it was VERY quiet and you could not even tell there was a supercharger on it.

Ive heard them in videos on here and you can def hear a whine. 450hp is a def improvement from 230

what price do you have on the KB and the Procharger?

price on a KB was 3099
and the Procharger was 5149 i think it was i know it was over 5k

I think that the KB is the only one twin screw blower for 5.0 Mustang, the price is around $3000.00, KB offer a limited warranty of one year.

If you compare you can buy a new Vortech SC for a 94-95 Mustang at around $3000.00 (3 years of warranty) :

Don't know what choice is the best, but for the warranty it's clearly the Vortech the best.

In the used market there no big deal to do, I saw a lot of blower at 75% of the price of a new one...

i a mvery hesitant to buy a blower used or off ebay. If i am spending this much on one i want to make sure there is NOTHING at all wrong with it. I am probably going to do a KB on a 331 with a 50 shot of nx on it

my 95 cobra runs the 1.5l kenne bell with a 8lb pulley. they make no noise when there new, but put 1000 miles or so on it, and its very noticeable. but sounds cool. with long tube headers and pro dumps makes 325 rwhp/450rwtq

The one problem with the KB on a 5.0 is there is no cooling of the air. They run very hot and absorb alot of power. You could cool the air charge with a little nos or meth inj. I think it's a really cool set up but dosn't make the power on these 5.0's that they make on the mod motors. I've seen some pretty disapointing numbers on a 5.0 with a KB.

i run a snow methanol injection to cool the temps down, which does a good job, and is cheap to fill up. cant down the push-rod motor to much, just bolt ons, and make 450rwtq @ 2600 rpm. gets me moving pretty quick, no lag at all.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not downing the pushrod at all I'm just saying that the KB is proven more effective with the mod motor setups.
All I've ever owned are pushrods. Like I was saying to cool the charge you would have to run some nos or a meth inj.

dont like turbos? prolly a 62mm turbo makes more power than a KB,dont get me wrong love the whine of the KB
