Thinking about taking the Camaro as a long hauler this year, it's a bucket list thing.

Have you ever been on one, how was it?

Me and a buddy are planning on doing the long haul this year. Bucket list thing for me too. Hopefully we can finish his truck in time.

My boyfriend mentioned trying to join up while it's in Chatanooga but we haven't decided for sure yet.

I gotta get a couple final things sorted out on the Camaro before I can commit though, mainly getting the AC back in tip top shape and finding the gremlin in the charging system that causes the car to not start or crank or do anything sometimes when hot after I turn it off...and get some pipes on the ol' girl.

Not sure how I feel about the route this year though, TX to NC? Being I'm in MN that's a lot of extra driving to get there and home, which isn't a bad thing necessarily I guess.

goddamn all the official hotels are like over a hundo a night on average

with hotels registration and the massive drive from st paul to tx to start and nc to st paul to come home itd be like a 1500 dollar trip

A guy I work with is talking about doing the whole thing in his '13 white/orange Camaro RS (6 banger). He was saying the same thing about the hotels too.
If ya'll see him, be sure to smack him arouond a little.

Yeah I thought they'd have a lot of cheaper hotel options...I could always go to whatever hotel I want, but if I gotta leave my baby out in a parking lot overnight, and parked next to other cars at that, I'd sure as HELL rather it be in a parking lot full of cherry muscle cars where everyone's a car guy and everyone's careful not to ding each others' doors rather than some fat lard ass slamming it open to get a suitcase out of their car.

I've done the long haul with my dad/uncle/cousin/grandpa. We took a '39 International Ratrod, our '66 Fairlane, and my uncle's foxbody.

Most every town you stop in will be full of car guys. No matter if it's the official hotel or what not. We'd stay at dirt cheap hotels and there would always be at least a couple more Power Tour guys there.

I've been on a few stops in a row but never did the long haul although I've had my friend that used to go religiously. It's fun and a good time but lordy it's hot. I had a blast at the autocross in my mom's Silverado SS a few years ago!
