Anyone running GT40P heads?

Looking for input on what plug wires to use, and with or without booties.

I had MAC headers on at first, then went to Fox BBK. With the MACS there is absolutely no way to get a couple of plugs in. The BBKs are fine for all except #7, and my 45* boot wires are a little short too. Anyone have any experiences or recommendations? Headers are not the P headers.

My last motor has them, I had to get special wires with 90 degree boots, and the fabric heat sheilding. I ended up ditching the heads and went with just 40s. There's headers you can get that help with clearence but i can't remeber who makes em...

I believe it's MAC who makes the headers. Don't quote me on that though...

I have had GT40p heads on two motors. I usually just put the heat shield sleeves over the boots. The only two headers that I didnt have to worry about clearance of the boots was Ford Racing shorty headers for P heads and Mac Long tube headers.

FRPPs work with the Ps, MAC "P specific" headers work obviously and the MAC longtubes work as well with universal plug boots. Personally I feel P heads are a waste of money unless you are getting them completely gone through and ready to bolt on for under $500. Have been down the P head road... not as cheap as you think and by the time you get done you'll be getting close or at the price of buying a good used set of Edel/TW aluminums.

I agree with you. I'd love to bolt on a set of aluminums. But that's 'no bueno' for my race class. I'm limited to 260RWHP using non ported stock valved E7 or GT40/P.

I need to find some plug wires that will stand the test of some punishing heat. 20-45 minute run sessions at WOT.

Heat sheilds and tie wraps... i fucking hate my gt40p heads. Im running mac long tubes and had no choice but to dent them in some places to get the plugs in. Although some people on here must have magical powers because they claimed i'm an idiot for denting them. Good luck. End rant
