aode is f*cked!!!

so the tranns is pretty much garbage ..now it got worse today..first it lost reverse about a month ago..today as im driving its sticks on like 3k rpm and wont go past 35 mph its slipping very bad when i got home barley got home.. i pulled the tranny dip stick out and it smelled like straight burnt tar and it was smoking a little lol...time for a rebuild..what master rebuild kit..what torque converter and what else would i need for it to kick but and beat on with no problems ...94 gt aode ...going turbo and need it to handle at least 480hp and 500tq..I DONT WANT A 5 SPEED honestly....i have 1500 to spend and so far i only have a tranns cooler...thats 1500 with everything so any suggestions would help thanks guys btw everything on my tranns is stock no upgrades sadly had only 78k miles and already f*cked up

I am not sure about a rebuild kit for that thing, maybe take it to a reputable shop and tell them what you want out of it and get a quote. I beat my AODE to death but change the filter in it about every 15k and it takes the abuse of a HCI Kenne Bell engine with no issues. Trans has 233k on it. I know quite a few guys who have destroyed these things and it seems regular filter changes are key to making them last.

my car's AOD was screwed when i bought it... but i didnt really care (5-speed swap) and then one day i was driving down the highway and BAM overdrive went out and it was just revving up and shit ... im in the works of the 5-speed right now

well theres a guys selling a 95 cobra t-5 z spec tranns with everything for a 800 so i dont know ...im so pissed
