Im about to buy a stall converter for my auto with 4.10 gears out the rear. What stall would you guys recommend. I was thinking like 3500 stall to feel the kick. Also do i buy it from known brands, one of my buddies works in a transmission shop and he said he will build a custom one for me with any stall i want. Its much cheaper but I dont know if they are good enough.

The stall of a converter is based on what is done to the car.

You can't just say - I'm doing a 3000 stall or 2800 stall.

Converters are based on powerband, rear gears, etc. If you want to know the stall and size converter to get, contact a reputable converter company - they will direct you with what to get.

Hughes Performance, Lentech Transmissions, Precision Industries are 3 good companies that are very reputable.
