i found a pair of full assembled procomp IRON heads for $200. ive been doin some research on the aluminum heads and didnt even know procomp made iron heads. they are 2.02 1.60 w/ screwin studs and some red aluminum roller rockers on em. im not tryin to start one of those "spend a couple hundred more and get some good afr heads" threads that are everywhere. but seriously, $200?!?!? the rockers and studs would cost that! and i know the risk of buying used heads but it will be worth the additional $75 to have em magnafluxed for cracks. anyone here used, using, or know someone that has had these on a car? i have big plans for this car but they will take time and money. but for now id like to get a lil more from this 302. the 351w and turbo are here but im waiting for the extra finances to cover all the other things to go with em.

small plans on the 302 are... the explorer intake that i have here, e-cam that i have here, the 150 shot thats allready on the car :angel4:, and possibly these heads. what do yall think bout this lil build? thanks in advance

Take a shot on them... take tap and die kit or a bolt or 2 and check the threads...Worst case you need the seats redone or something and your set back another $300ish... If you notice something wrong with them, pull the rockers sell them and chuck the heads in the scrap pile.

contact the seller and i would ask if you could pay to have them looked at by a machine shop before the purchase. id rather be out 100 bucks then 300, 200 + 100

So quickly searching i found the craigslist add... they dont look that great and if they were run for 2 years id want fresh seats... so your looking at $300 on top of that $275 or whatever he was asking... Not bad if they turn out to be good heads... You can buy them bare for about $400

A few searches turn up bad things... if they were aluminum... or you need rockers id say do it... *shrug*

i went ahead and took a chance on em. they look great. i have an explorer intake i planned on using with these but the top of the intake runner will only have about 3/16 of aluminum left to seal with the gasket. do yall think that will be enough? anyone heard of anyone using the explorer intake with procomp 190cc heads?
