So I noticed some clunking when I would be on the highway in OD but wanna switch to the fast lane, so I'd turn the OD off.. and when I do, there's a clunk when 3rd engages. Haven't had this problem until recently. It goes into all gears fine. Downshifts fine when braking. But that little jolt from OD to OD off (foot off gas) there's a little clunk.

So I was thinking, Drive shaft U joint. Got under the car today and the U joints are solid. Now, there's play where the drive shaft is slid into the transmission. I took a video to show the issue so there's a better understanding.

So my question is, is this a problem with the piece that slides into the transmission.. or the piece that is already inside of the transmission that drives the piece connected to the shaft.

Yep thats all normal, the output shaft in your transmission is not solid as you found out it will move up and down when you push on it with or without a d.s in it. And the rotation back and forth is normal for any auto car like ours.

Oh and the part on the driveshaft that is in the back of the tranny is the YOKE and the splined shaft it slides onto it the OUTPUT Shaft. The end of the driveshaft that bolts to ths rear most call a flange.

I appreciate the replies man. I googled it and it was showing a 2013 GT having play in the output and everyone was saying that's perfectly normal.

So since my drive shaft is good, I did lower the car a few weeks ago. Maybe a spring isn't sitting correctly.

Are you sure your not feeling torque converter lockup? Don't sound like a spring issue as all they would do is transmit more road noise without ISO's if anything.

That's what I mean. I'm thinking maybe the spring is shifting since I took the iso's out. There's a possibility the spring might not be sitting in the direction it should. I'll check it out today. Have a damn exhaust leak at the manifold. As if I needed worse problems with the top end! It's freakin' horrible now.
