i posted last week about a break squeek after doing my rear brakes, well today we pulled the rears and noticed the rotor rubbing the caliper. we also noticed the driverside axle was moving around quite a bit more than the passenger. in total probably 1/8 of an inch. that was causing it to rub. so we called a trans/diff shop and the said switch the axles so we did and now everything seems to be fine but im taking it to a shop and having it looked over tomorrow. any idea what could cause this?

if they were the original axles i'd say age/mileage/abuse.

Did you check to make sure the caliper itself wasn't bad or the caliper bracket? Then again you said the axle was moving as well right?

were the c-clips still in when you swapped the axles?
