Sorry no pics yet till I can finally put some wax on her when the paint is degassed. I have some pics of the bad spots in the paint I need to upload and put in this thread later today. Anyway, it looks pretty decent but the opening of the grille under the horse the bumper has some fish eye spots that I am pretty sure they can not fix without repainting the bumper :(. Also the upper corners of the rear quaters where it wraps around all the way along the top edge of the trunk it feels like very very rough orange peel and it's pretty visible. There are similar spots on the doors that I am hoping can just be fixed by having them do a good wet sanding on the areas or something. The spoiler looks terrible so I am going to have them repaint it completely since I can just remove it. Am I just expecting too much from a $1400 paint job? I mean they used quality 3m paint but I am guessing the rapid weather change we have just had made it harder to work with. It's not a top of the lin shop by any means and I knew I would have some issues but still kind of dissapointed.

Greenscobie86 thanks for the pics. I can't see them right now due to this damn government computer but will check them out when I get home. Here are some pics of the places that are bugging me the most! I hope they work as I usually have a fit posting pics here for some reason lol. Any advice on correcting the paint is welcome. I am new to this and don't want to screw it up more than it already is!

That looks like the clear got contaminated. Best bet would be to re-clear it. But I would try to sand/buff it first. From the looks of it I don't think it will buff out.

wow, not sure what to say there. Saw a girl at work get an early shiet $300 special and they did a HORRIBLE job masking it off, but its no extra time to make sure you lay the paint down right to avoid that. I mean that isn't shoddy materials or isn't a bad prep job that did it(which is 2/3 the price of the paint job unless color sanding). That just looks like someone wasn't watching their overspray but I am no expert.

When I go to get my car painted finally in the next couple of years I will expect it much much better, but will also probably be paying more.

Yea I'm a picky c*unt so I pay a good chunk for a paint job. My fox was expensive. The yellow car won't be to bad because I did the engine bay myself as well as the jambs and trunk.

A clay bar isn't gonna help you at all. The other ones could be sanded out. But the fender one looks pretty bad.

Ugh. I hope it can be fixed without too much work. Like I said, for the price I expected some issues but those are VERY eye grabbing issues to say the least. Hopefully the guy will be coming to take a look at it this week. I can't stand just the thought of knowing it looks like that. I really hope sanding will help. I would just do it myself if I had someone close by to help that knew what they were doing. I guess we will wait and see. Maybe someone can offer more advice. I wish I had the time and money to have it done better but with me seperating form the military very soon and a baby on the way and having to start from scratch again I jsut couldn't afford anything better. Man, I just hope it can be fixed pretty easily.

Hopefully you can fix it. What you have is not dry spots. It looks like they didn't clean the surface good enough and the clear reacts with the contaminated area. Usually silicone contamination.

great. I can't afford to be without the car to have them fix it. And I am affraid letting them try to fix it they will jsut screw it up again. I hope I can at least make it less visible. At least then the car would still look way better than before paint.

90% of that is simply orange peel. you can def rub that out to look 1000x's better. i would 2000 grit, then 2500 grit, then 3000 grit. buffing compound, then polishing compound. the fisheyes are the only thing ya cant rub out usually cause they simply are holes in the clear kinda, lol. but most of that is good 'ol orange peel my man. pretty sever orange peel yes but for 1400 you wont get great paint.

do you own a good buffer?

Tony you are the man for lifting my spirits lol. My biggest concearn is can I do just those spots or must I do the entire pannel? I would hate to sand to deep and have premature clear coat failure :( It's not a rotory but I do have a PC 7424 that might get the job done. What do you think?

you dont have to do the whole panel. you can feel it blending and smoothing while your sanding. just be careful and patient so ya dont burn throuh your clear. as soon as ya start to feel it get a little smoother. stop.....spray a little water where ya sanded and wipe off the milky shit to see where your at. its really no biggy just takes a good eye and a little patience. i am 100% positive you can smooth almost all of that out!!

[/QUOTE]see all the light dull kinda faded bumps? that whole panel prolly looked that way, they just got lazy and didnt finish cutting and buffing. if they would have continued on they would have got all that out as well.
