lube or replace arms.

Think im going to do both. Lube and order some Cobra Arms.

Are the arms easier and cheaper to install than just replacing the lower ball joints?

I dont think its cheaper to buy new arms, just easier.. I would grease them. We are going through the exact same thing with the wifes car. The balljoints are less then 1 year old and make that terrible noise when turning. Even if we grease them, within a few weeks they are squeeking again..

Wow, no-one told me steeda x2 balljoints were greaseable. LOL, the SOB's have a grease fitting on the bottom so you can inject grease into them without damaging them. Mine were dead out of grease for soem reason.

My Moog ball joints have the hole i just screwed in a fitting and bam that's it. 39 bucks for the ball joints free tool rental and your done. If your ball joints are as blown as mine you might have to just take off the arm and take them both up to have them pressed out and new ones pressed in but shouldn't be more then $70 bucks for them to do that.

Cobra Arms: anywhere from $200-$320
New ball joints and Labor : About $100

Take your pick.

i put in tubed a-arms on. just no grease fittings on the bottom of the balljoints. i didnt get them in the box. Win hooked me up though. i just havent tried to put them on. if i had to it again with stock joints. id just replace the control arms. new bushings and balljoints seems more practical. how often do you really go through balljoints unless you are lowered?
