98 cobra with the parallel hangers. I'm looking at part number 46985S which is the 98 catback and it comes with 3.5 inch tailpipes for the parallel hangers and 3 inch tailpipes for the sideways hangers. I do not want the 3.5 inch tips, only 3 inch tips. If i get the 96-97 tailpipe hangers, can i order the 46985S with the sideways hangers and it bolt up fine? If so, my question is what is the difference in the 46985S sideways hanger 3 inch tailpipes and the 96-97 catback 46975S (which comes with 3 inch tailpipes)?

Are the bumpers any different? Hangers in a different location?

94-97 use the same hangers, 98 is the queer year. The hangers are welded to the tailpipe so you'd have to customize it to use them with the 98 setup.

The 98 could have a sideways hanger or a parallel hanger. My question is, is the 98 sideways hanger the same as a 94-97 hanger?

Why does Bassani say an early 98 could have a sideways hanger yet 3 ford dealers say there is only the parallel hanger for the 98?!?!?

If i get 94-97 hangers bassani still says order the 98 catback for sideways hangers. Why do they think the 98 sideways hangers are different than the 94-97 sideways hangers?!?!

You cant buy a 98 Catback with 3 inch tips from bassani..... only 3.5 inch tips.

98's use the 99-04 catbacks.

Handz how does your catback fit overall? Mine is really tight where the mufflers are near the frame and also really tight by the rear tires...

says specify what hanger when ordering (parallel 3.5 inch tips, sideways 3 inch tips). yet 96-97 have sideways hangers too. im going to get the 96-97 hangers but my question is what is the difference in the 98 sideways hanger kit vs the 96-97 kit.

i was about 2 say that the 98 uses the same setup and all as the 99+ but Handz has taken care of that.

I just got an email from bassani saying the gt has the sideways hanger on early models and parallel on newer models. Maybe the cobra only had the parallel hangers through out the 98 year.

same, im confused on why this thread even exists. bassani's website simply says to choose whether you have sideways or parallel hangers. it is quite obvious that since he has sideways hangers and should get the kit with sideways hangers.
