Need help finding a new battery here.. Most are too tall it seems, the hood wouldn't close. The previous owner resolved this by fitting a tiny 44Ah battery so it could be shoved further back in the tray and clear the hood. But the 44A isn't cutting it, specially with electrical stuff ON and warm starts.

So I need a new one and can't find anywhere what kind of battery a '96 Cobra needs. I can get a 80Ah battery that's 175mm tall now, which is a smaller battery because I remember my old ProbeGT needed a smaller battery to clear the hood and that was 175mm too.

Question is, could 80Ah hurt anything? What are the normal specs for these cars?

tha car runs off of the alternator. the battery is there for starts and as a back up if the alt should fail.
I just got a new battery but i don't remember what the ah was on it. 100? If I remember to look for the receipt, I'll ck for you.
I think the 80 is still on the small side. Are the euro batteries a different size than the American ones.
If you can't get one close to the stock dimensions, you might need to look at relocating the batt to the trunk.

no, ours are too tall.. And I'm not sure what Ah to go with since we don't use CCA's and stuff.

I know that a Battery Relocation Kit is kinda a PITA, but it would solve some issues.
