I am selling my Crower stage 2 NON PI blower cams because I am going with stage 3 ported/polished PI heads. I hear great things about custom grind MPH blower cams, CMS cams, Crower...what do you guys think? I already have Crower valve springs/steel retainers and the valve springs can handle up to a .612 lift. thanks

I'm making 600rw on a conservative tune with pretty much the same setup you'll be going to. (That's with a 3.12" pulley and 16lbs btw) With Cushman Motorsports 2.5 blowers have the loppy idle but none of the drivability issues a stage 3 type cam will have.

105 octane and still conservative it made 630rw

yeah mike, i keep hearing awesome things about these cushman 2.5 cams. if I did go with the stage 3 cams, do you think I could pick up a little more hp/tq? or will it just change the power range of the cam?

If your gonna street drive the car a CMS 2-2.5 is perfect. I went with the 2's just because i didn't want any drivability issues. I almost went with the Crower 2's and thats about what the CMS 2.5 are.

I think if your going with a 3 you'll probably be running a bigger blower like a ProCharger F1 etc.

From the two sets of CMS stage3's I've tried tuning (For me) I spent a lot of time messing with drivability issues. (I'm not the best tuner but GrecoFace from Modular Fords had his buddy install them in his Red 99+ car and he said the same thing. They also spent a lot of time with drivability and the tune. (youtube video with car in the garage at night.)

Sean (Oxford) loved his stage 3's on the street but he's as serious as you can get without taken the car off the road completely.

The last time I talked to Jim, he told me that unless I'm trying to go with more than 650rw his S3's would be overkill and start to affect power under the curve for a DD since it's is shift the power range. If your car was a duty race car (Street or strip) and that was your only concern, then I'd go with the 3's.

It seems you're after the same thing I was so stick with the 2.5's.

I think I'm going to go with CMS blower cams, now I just need to decide whether I want to go with the Stage 2.5 or stage 3

Cal Jim Cushman and talk to him. He'll let you know exactly what you should do. I'm sure he'll tell you to go with 2.5's.
