So what is hands down the best centrifugal s/c cam for a street car, running in the range of 1500rpm to 6500rpm.

Ive heard good things about the f cam but now i hear of driveability issues? What about all the others out there? What is the best of the best? Most power, bang for the buck and of course driveability!

Opinions are welcomed but facts are appreciated

i would look for a Anderson Ford Motorsport B31 in your in that rpm range. They have great drivability and great power. I am running their B451HR now and love it.

There is no hands down best cam, since every combo is different.

For the most power and best driveability, get a custom cam, but don't get a custom cam until you are done changing the engine around.

i can agree with that but there has to be one that stands above the others for a mild street s/c setup......

a custom cam would be the best of the best of cams...for your car, for what you have done for a set-up

Hi there,
many moons ago I had an E cam on the following (Edelbrock 6032 heads, GT-40 intake, ProCharger P600B@12lbs and 36lbs) and the car made 496rwhp. I swapped in an F cam and 42lbs injectors and the car made 525rwhp. The midrange and top-end charge form the F-cam was like night and day compared to the E cam.

Not sure why alot of people have driveability issues with the F cam but 3 local guys here at the time had no issues with driveability.

I took out the F cam and swapped in a Crane cam and the car picked up 5rwhp on the top end (sorry, I don't remember the specs) but they were close to the F cam.

Bottom line, find someone with a similiar combo who has had some success with a particular cam and try it.

BTW, I no long run the F cam. I changed my whole combo and went witha custom cam from www.cammotion.com

Good luck
Michael Plummer

Again, everyone has different heads, intakes, blowers, exhaust... There still isn't even one OTS cam that leads the pack, except on a given combo.

What is your combo dude - you have yet to tell us.

In general a good blower cam is going to want to push more on the exhaust side.

So, what is your combo?
