Like 95PG said its not the cost of the ticket that gets you, its the hike in your insurance that you pay for years.

Cool, but pretty obvious to LEO that want to make a problem of it.
Seriously, it's in the EXACT CENTER upper section of your dash.
You mind as well tape your radar detector to your driver side door handle with a sign that says "FVCK YOU PIG."

Also if you get caught speeding and they see your radar say goodbye to a warning.

man none of you guys are listening to what im saying are you...The way I see it, your all being way too pessimistic about the subject lol its not that big of a deal and I agree that spending 400$+ is really stupid thats why im only spending 100$ which is the most i would ever spend on one...all i care about is that im getting a good 170$ detector for 100$ that will probably save my a** a few times. end of discussion... ;)

Your the one not seeing the point. Dont frigging speed and you wont need to spend $100 on anything. Ive been driving since I was 17, Im 32 now Ive had 1 speeding ticket. Ive owned one fuzz buster and I had it for about 2 years and I realized how useless they are.

We have Valentine 1's in each car because they work. Only people who get tickets while still properly using a quality radar detector are idiots. A good radar detector is a tool that needs to be studied. I know where every false alarm in my area is after owning them for 15 years so when I get a signal that is new I know to be cautious. V1's are also excellent for highway use, unless you are all alone and then you will be cherry picked.

Where I live there is always traffic so odds are someone ahead of me will be getting hit with radar so my V1 will generally alert me with a mile or more to go.
I've tried cheaper radars in the past but they either broke or didn't work with a long enough alert range.

You can also send your V1 in for upgrades or in the case of my original model they offered to upgrade to a new one with a trade in of the old unit and about $100 for the new one with upgraded radar. I don't know if any other company does that...most just become obsolete and thrown away.

My detector has picked up laser plenty of times. As long as he is not blasting you and you only you're alright. But just because you have a po po finder doesn't mean you can drive like an idiot.

The radar detector will pick up the laser...when it's shooting you.
That's my point.

There is a reason V1s money back guarantee specifies radar only.

And it will also pick up the laser being directed on the car 1/2 mile in front of me, giving me plenty of warning.
