Hey guys, i was just wondering what the best temp for HIDs are. I never had them, nor really looked into them, and pictures online don't really look much different color to color. thanks in advanced.

they'll be for my fogs, so i doubt i'd have to worry about bugging other drivers. can't tell if blue would look good on a red car..

I'd only get 8's tops, but I prefer 6 or 5 the blue light isn't bright at all and lights up the road horribly. My 10k's on my superduty are kinda bright but there way too blue and gotta go.

I originally bought 8k and thought they were way too blue. Guy I bought them from sent me 6k's and they were perfect. I went with 6k for my fogs too.

I originally bought the 3k's for my fogs. They looked yellow when you looked at them but they didnt look yellow when they hit the road at all and were pretty dim. Are yours like that at all or did I just get a bad set? I put the 6k's in them and they brightened up a decent bit but still dont seem too bright.

I have 6000k for headlights and fogs, i love the color of them. Also keep in mind if you go with the 55w kit the color will be the same as the 35w kit one color lower. ie 55w 8000K looks the same as 35w 6000K. i guess cause the extra brightness drowns out some color. imo 35w is plenty.

I've had 10k's in my moms explorer for 2yrs with no problems (knock on wood) and that thing being up higher than a car you can get away with it. Had 12k heads and 3k fogs in my Camaro... Couldn't see shit if it hit you in the face. I have 8k heads and fogs in my grand am and love em except the fact that the high beams are all fukked up and don't work.

I would agree on 8k's or lower Belb!

And not to kinda highjack the thread but what are some brands you guys use? I've had nothing but Xentec's and the success rate has been about 75/25. 75 being the unsuccessful number lol. They're all hit or miss

I have xentecs in my car and my explorer headlights and fogs. Only had one ballast go bad in the past year. They sent me out a new one two days later. You cant beat em for the price. ($32 shipped on eBay)

Thanks Belb haha just wanted to throw it out there that I wasn't trying to steal it :p

And Chris I've had a TON of Xentecs. Think I should just get another couple sets? Are all HID's hit or miss?

All cheap kits are hit and miss. I just made sure the people I ordered from offered a warranty. I have the link to the guy on my laptop if you want to order from him. He even sent me different temp bulbs for free. I asked him how much and he said don't worry about it and to keep the other bulbs in case I changed my mind. That's why I ordered from him for my Explorer.

I don't plan on ordering wright now but I would greatly appreciate that. I come across too many kits from China and none of them offer any kind of warranty. I just checked some kits out on eBay and man every time I go to buy a new set there are more companys on there and they all look cheaper and cheaper lol..

Not tryin to thread jack either here but Im looking to order an hid kit from DDM soon. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need? I see eliminator and harnesses, idk what to get. But i want a 35w 8000k kit, low beam only or maybe hi and low. Is it better to just get high and low?
