Just get a new cap, rotor, plug wires, and some new plugs. If you want you can change out your coil for a MSD one too.

I'm not sure why the guy above me told you to buy a rebuilt distributor. :idiot2:

I would suggest to stay away from MSD, unless your using the newer digital stuff. I'm an EE, and recently had torn apart and MSD 6 box and was absolutly astonished at how poorly designed the print board was, and the solder joints looked like a 6 year old did it. Theirs nothing wrong with it, just poorly designed, and out-of-date analog technology, which would explain their high failure rates. I would look more toward ACCEL or Crane ignition personally.

Ford TFI ignition is pretty damn reliable. I would look elsewhere first.

I have MSD billet dizzy and coil and plug wires(short...), Digital-6. It's been fine for over 2 1/2 years now. BUT their coil go bad sometimes...I have no idea why...I haven't had any problems with my digital-6.

I agree that 6AL go bad and is out dated. they have "Newer" version now.

The digital 6 is a very nice peice. I had one of the new 6AL boxes apart a few weeks ago, and it still was using the same components the old stuff was.

OP: Start with some good plugs/wire/cap, if you havent already. If that hasnt gotten rid of it, i would not be hesitant to go towards a coil, seeing as they are inexpensive, and are a common culprit.
