So the O.P. doesn't like the forum and neither does the guy above me... why are you guys crying about the forum? You ask a question on the internet and you're going to get a variety of answers, some will be what you want to hear and some won't. You supposed to take the info you want from the replies and go from there.

I posted up a cam selection question and I have people telling me my motor needs to be checked and my motor has problems which it really doesn't. Thats the only reason for my response.

ya but I'll still put down 350rwhp on the efi logics dyno even if on everyone elses dyno it would be closer to 380rwhp like your saying, lol.

yeah no offense to him, hes better off tunning evo's and sti's,Im shocked hes tunning ur car though, last time i checked he said he only does obd2 cars 96+ and he said he will not tune 5.0's/ obd1 cars anyways,

I was one of the last obd1 cars he tuned and now he said he won't tune them but since he did it in the first place he will tune it in the future if it needs it he said. I have no problem with how he tuned the car because it runs good but whatever he did on the tune didn't make the idle 100% perfect like I would have liked. Where do you take your car to get it tuned?

OP... considering you are actually realy close, you should take the time to head up to Dez Racing in Seekonk Mass.

Mike (unlike some of the pricks on this forum) actually has a ******* clue.

He will probably (like I did) tell you that the heads are too small for your engine

Your probably right but I am going to have to leave them on there I don't have the money for better heads. I kinda figured the reason why I have good torque but not hp is because of the heads.

The TFS heads are actually nice heads. If your running their street heads like I am they have a ton of room to port. I wouldn't waste money getting new heads just find a good porter. I was looking at different heads also but a friend talked me into keeping them and getting them ported. He runs a set of ported TFS Twisted Wedge street heads on his 347 powered 10 sec. fox body.

I say in the end get a custom cam and port the heads. Should make a bit of difference. But hey just my $.02 right. =D

Thanks guys for nothing I guess this site is getting like every other forum on the net. I ask a question and get bullsh*t back. The fact that I was asking about camshafts tells you I have motor issues? Where the f*ck did you guys get that from? I'm fully aware that I don't have the worlds best intake and heads but its what I want to work with and it was the cheapest available.

I know exactly how you feel. I dont frequent this forum very often and when I do, for the most part its the same few guys making the same damn comments, and shooting down everyones posts. and im lafenat lafenatu for hoping on modos cock. first he couldnt agree more on a new cam, then he insists on finding a problem with your car.

There are some great guys on here that really have great information to share its the fact that you have to weed through the other guys bs to get to the good information that gets to me. And NO this isn't directed at MustangChris because he smokes the good stuff.

Just to keep this thread on track.

My apologies for the people who elect to make unhelpful statements and criticize rather than help. They have been warned, and one in particular in this thread got a vacation.

To x182dan, I hope we've been helpful.

To the others who post useless BS, I am watching and I am going to "ramp up" my efforts to vacation or ban the offenders. I am watching.

Paul.

yes i will have to agree that your cam is too small for your application. your heads could use some work also, but are still an ok head and should be making more power then you are. let me give you an example, i am in the process of swaping h/c/i on a friends cobra it is a 347 shortblock it had procomp 160 cc heads and a tftw II cam with a tftw track heat intake, it made 290 and 350 to the wheels!!! crazy low numbers, the heads were suppost to be 210 cc, but procomp sent the wrong ones and we diddent find out till it was too late so here we are... now we are putting a set of pro comp 230 cc CNC'd heads and an anderson n-91 cam with 1.7 rockers and a sheet metal intake in hopes of breaking the 400 hp mark, which will be more then enough to do it as long as the tuner gets it tuned correctly...

my suggestion would be to either call ed curtis, anderson, or comp and get their recommendation on a cam. i would think that something like the comp xfi236hr, the xe282 or anderson n-71 would be a nice cam for your particular application, although you can never go wrong with a custom ground, but will cost more money..... if you shop around you can find these cams mentioned for around 150 ish used and be fine....

I hope this helps and lmk if you have any other question as i am in about the same boat as you are and would be happy to share my experience and what steps i have taken with you...

Toby

i believe the heads can be made to work but the cam is the issue IMO. contact jay allen at camshaft innovations he will get you back on the right track

The post about ring seal is a valid concern, while no one is saying that is the reason your numbers are not what you want, the fact is that it can be a cause. it would be frusterating to do all the work of adding a new cam and then still not getting the power you want because of a different issue, i think that is all the poster was referring to. that aside, you could pick up more from a better cam, i have an E303 in my 331 and i am no where near the power i should be :angry7:

as suggested i would call one of the more well known cam guys. even if they dont do a custom ground cam, you have a combo that is pretty common, they can point you in the direction of a cam that will work well. best of luck, post up what you go with and new numbers.
