I washed a brand new ram truck today, god it was soo frustrating with the water marks and everything. But when it was done, it looked very sharp.

It's impossible to keep my car clean... course i have no garage, but it seems like 20 min after i wash her, she's dirty again... my old silver mustang, i could wash once and not wash it again for a month, and it ALWAYS looked clean. LOL

Honestly, i don't worry about this car as much as i did my silver one... i'm in Virginia, and i have no garage, and the car paint job is nasty as is, so i clean it every now and then to make myself feel better, but wont' actually worry about detailing, and serious cleaning till i'm back in Houston and have a garage to put her in....
I have clay barred her before, and i like the turtle wax liquid ice wax, it actually made the car shine, even with a dull shitty paint job. lol...

I wash my car at say 4pm. Next morning it looks dirty, there is a layer of dust even if it hasnt moved. Not to mention I can see every little spec wrong with the paint and anything like oxidation or little bit of dust that kind of stuff you can see right away. I like black and always wanted a black car. My next car will 100% not be black. For the few hours they are clean the black is the shit but after that everything else kicks ass I would much rather have laser red or Bab thats for sure.

just make sure it always has a nice coat of wax on it, and it will be very easy to keep clean. black shows dirt more but with wax it cleans up very easily.

If you have access to a garage it will be easier to keep clean. I use Blackfire and pc the results are great. I use a cali duster to get the dust off of it, then go over it with the deep gloss spray and that cleans it right up. Of course I don't have a garage and I just got rid of my car cover so it takes longer. But I am going to invest in a good car cover and hopefully a house with a garage next year so I don't have to bust my but to make it look so good all the time. :hammer:

MAKE SURE you keep WAX on the car like vert said...

my paint has kinda oxidized just a bit and HAD hard water marks in the paint.. i had to clay bar them to get them out..

claybar the car, polish, and wax it and black is the sexiest color out there... my car looks gorgeous... ill show you a picture i have in a few days (saturday probably)... my car looks seriously like a mirror in the picture.

anyways, if you wash it normally, keep the water off of it, and keep wax and stuff on it, it will stay clean.

get a duster to get the light pollen/dust off the car in the mornings (i have a california duster)

I want to get my car painted before i head to Houston, that way when i get there, and my new apartment will hopefully have a garage, i can keep her clean... i'm glad you asked this question man, with my last Mustang being Silver, i didn't have any clue how hard it was to keep a black car clean, but i've learned a lot from this thread, and can't wait to get a garage where i can put what i've learned to use.
