Hey guys. I've decided after looking at every conceivable wheel to stick with my stock split spokes. I just can't find anything I like besides some of the "standard" after market wheels. No offense to those who run them, but I feel like certain styles are more cookie cutter than stock, LOL!

Anyway, I think I'd like to do something a little different with the stock wheels. I'm thinking about painting the "insets" black and leaving the face machined. Any thoughts? Anybody have time to do a little PS work to see what it would look like?

I've seen the '97's...they are a charcoal color...if I do this I want them jet black like the car.

OK...here is my piss poor attempt at PSing the insets. Good enough you can get an idea I think. Problem now is I can't decide which I like better, LOL! So let the comments fly!

Idk dude they both look good. I agree bout those wheels though, wish I had a set! I love the way they look. I hope to find a set one day to put on the car, love my Saleens but honestly those split spokes you got are just about my favorite wheel.

I looked long and heard for something after market...and there are some I like...but as someone else once said, show up a Mustang event and 90% of the cars are running variations of about 3 basic after market styles, LOL! I think the split spokes look good and quite frankly are more unique even though they are stock.

I love the painted version as its a new twist on some already good looking wheels! Although, it will add to the maintenance of keeping the chips in the paint covered up.

I was a little worried about chipping. The wheels are in very good condition but are still 15 years old...I think I'll probably do a little restoration and re-coat them with clear.

Go aftermarket. I had those wheels on my 97 GT vert.. and while they look good.. still doesn't make the car pop like aftermariket wheels do. Just looks... STOCK.. eh..

Im always against the grain in post i think lol.

Just my .02.... I know where you can pick up a set of Boyd deep dish junk yard dogs (my #3 choice ) look in to a set of TSW's ,(my # 2 pick) 2 styles stand out to me , jahanna , the second I can't think of off hand but is my fav. Go figure. OR.... If you want to be diffrent.... Polish out the wheel and pain everything from the surface back gloss black , if rock chips are your concern powder coat that portion of the wheel. It will shine like no tommarow , it's fairly cheep (dyi for about $40 to polish , $60 to powder coat) and adds that deep steam roller effect to your car.
