I saw a vid recently where a guy showed how easy it was after freezing it with dry ice. now the cost vs time I am not sure of but it looked nice and clean after.

I've seen that too! Because of the postion I was in (POOR), I chose the heat gun method. It's worked great for me. It does leave a little bit of residue, but it mostly comes off with the paint stripper; the rest coming off with the sander. Thank you for sharing that :) sometimes i feel like my knowledge is as deep as the ocean in certain places, but it's also entirely surrounded by puddles lolllllll

I suppose I am curious, why are you stripping the paint?

Also any reason why you are going with a 302 small block instead of the existing modular?

Hey, thanks for your curiosity! I'm stripping the paint so I can sand and then repaint the interior :) Don't ask what yet, I'm still figuring it out lolllllllll

as for the 302, short answer is the specific 302 I'm putting in has incredible meaning to me, and don't laugh, I love pushrod engines. Plus, the history of the 302 and ford mustangs, and ford in general, is something I find really cool, and so I just want to carry that forward in my own way. Longer answer is on the previous page haha sorry, it's just a lot to rewrite.

Makes sense if you don't have an Interior. Are you running a cage?

As for the 302. Awesome! If it were for something like "easier power" I was going to say not really. If its just because you want a 302 and it's historical and cool significance.. rock on!!! The modular 2v and the push rod 302 are 2 of the best sound mustang engines ever made.

For the interior,
yeah that's the plan. The goal is a max effort streetcar, or whatever that means to me. So I'm going to strip, sand, and paint everything haha. The cage will be matching the interior.
My biggest inspiration appearance wise is 90's/2000's JDM cars, and Low-Riders; and the goal for the interior is to feel safe, warm, and cozy. I have the idea the the cabin is a place thats calm for me, so i was choosing between a beach and the forest. It'll be graded like the engine is a campfire, and it's dusk, with the colors darker the further away from the front of the car.
I'm thinking; 1)primer, 2)brush on paint the base colors over (I thought having the paint brush strokes texture preserved in the interior could be pretty cool; as well a nod to my "day-job"), and 3, air brush the actual scene. I've partial thought this out, but I've also thought it out while responding, so thanks! I DO know I'm going to airbrush the bottom of the roof, the constellation the night I was born; but that's the only think i'm sure about now.

As for the 302;
I am so geeked you said that! I am so freaking pumped to get it in there. So I'm trying to iron out everything as much as possible so once the engine gets here, I'll be ready for focusing on getting tear down started and cleaning everything. I'm most passionate about suspension and engines, and I got to mess with the suspension a lot, so I'm super excited to get my first experience tearing into an engine; especially with the confidence I've built up over the last year. Figuring out the sound will be so exciting!

pretty much all the pattern pieces for the seat are done, just got a couple left. I ran out of full fabric pieces, so i'm darning together the rest of the scraps, which will then get cut into the rest of the pieces. Hopefully done and in the car wedneday/thursday.
