check out por 15 for the interior paint. Easy and very durable.
Hi, I was wondering if you had any experience painting interiors? They don't have the colors I'm looking for, so I was thinking of doing spray paint for the actual colors, then doing a por 15 clear coat over everything. Is that something that could still work?

sorry I missed this. I have never painted inside short of dash panels. POR15 would still work great, unless you do not like black.

also 3:20 am is hilarious; as a former insomniac, I hope you get some sleep, or are in a different timezone.
lol no for some reason the longest I can seem to sleep is about 5 hours max. Then I am awake for an hour or two and then I might be able to get another hour or two. It probably has something to do with the EDS condition I have but not sure. I have been reading about histamine dumps that can happen at night and cause this related to eds but I am not sure.

That's super tough to still have to detective work while also getting 5 hours max. One thing people who aren't insominiacs don't realize is you can only get so used to being tired, and how much it can affect cognative/reaction ability. I hope you can get to the root of the issue cause fuck, that sounds like its really exhausting/frustrating.

Brain:
-Finally decided on a front bumper and what I wanted to do with the gauge cluster. The bumper looks kinda like the r34 bumper I wanted to make fit; so for now, Going with that. Also more square shaped, which is my only gripe with the look of the sn99. Green cluster for wakefulness at night, and because it gives a retro futuristic glow that I love.
Keep changing the hood because I'm indecisive. This one is hot pink, with baby blue and chrome faux airbrushed decals. The artsy part is a 3, hot-rod/lowrider, framed animation cells of a horse bucking with a rider on it. The idea being BlackJack (my car) was the wild horse I broke. There will also be 2 bands oh cheetah print flames under the decals. Drawing the mirrored part was so hard lol but I think it turned out ok.

Body:
-sanded the spare tire compartment because it had started to rust and I wanted to stop it in its tracks. I got so much off before I took the pictures. I went 100-150-220. I wasn't worried about perfection because i had to get it done before the sun went down and I couldn't paint, but I actually think I didn't job. Time to start on the rest haha It feels fantastic to make visual progress. going to start on the rest of the trunk area, and move up towards the back seat area. The front cabin is already done
If anyone can tell me how to get that nasty stopper out, either to plug or replace is important, I would love help haha

After skimming your thread, I have one question...how are you going to license it in CA (I beieve you're in SF) and pass SMOG? The car will be under CARB rules and changing and/or modifying anything without a CARB-EO is asking for failure. Other than that, you have a lot of anal body work to do.

I am no longer in CA! and while in CA, I knew someone at the DMV who looked at and said it was legal, and got me smogged. I don't have an aftermarket exhaust, which in the bay, is generally what leads to reffed.

Not totally correct, but partly correct. Changing engines, modifying engines and/or emissions related items is a big NO!

yup! if your car isn't excessively loud, the sirens generally won't get louder haha at least around where I used to live. they gotta
have a reason to pull you over :) It's funny, I bought a cam and had my order cancelled. I thought they wanted to scam me! haha the things I learnt the hard way could fill a book.

It IS legal to do a swap, the key is EVERYTHING must be for what you're putting in. i.e. If you have a 1999xxx and do a newer engine, the newer engine MUST be setup for the year of the engine being installed (a 2020 engine from a newer model), with ALL emission related items for that year. If you go in reverse to put an older engine in, it MUST be set to the standards of the 1999xxx model. Pretty much a cliff note version, so a visit to BAR is a must when doing this. It CAN BE DONE!

going to keep sanding today. stretch goal is entire rear of the interior done, but well see. buying more paint remover tomorrow, going to finish the back of the wheel wells; then i'll be done with the "floor" of the car. Going to primer everything and take a break on the interior.

next is taking off the radiator core support, n getting the new one welded on. I need a new front bumper too. But this upcoming month is interior paint, weatherproofing and wiring (finally). You guys convinced my in my other thread to take a little to get stuff that bothers me done that is simpler, as opposed to constantly pushing the easier stuff off. I feel like me when I suffer, its a double edged sword.

the month after, I'll be returning home, getting to FINALLY engine swap. I am so fucking excited I can't breathe lollll but I need to be patient.

My new radiator core support is in. Looks fantastic. Having issues with not being able to bleed the coolant system though. The goofs before me cut the hose shorter to make it fit their crashed and new "Fixed" radiator position. It was too short, so while driving home, temps were fine, but the coolants was spraying out the top of the degas bottle once i got moving. Sat on the side of the road yesterday for 7 hours yesterday trying to figure it out, 4 of them with no phone. Looked like the coolant was boiling in the degas with the amount of air bubbles. I also probably had a coolant mojito with all the air I inhaled. Tough day. If I'm overlooking anything that could also be causing this issue, please feel free to chime in :)
