Happens all the time!
You need to get a time cert to install.

Its more common on the Windsor PI heads but it will happen on Romeo too especially if a plug change was done and they were over tightened or loose. They can get loose by themselves and slowly back out then bam!

It can be repaired in the car.

Around here, there is a guy that will come to the shop and fix the plug threads. Charges like 90-100$. This beats the hell out of ripping the engine apart or swapping in an engine.

Ask your local machine shop or repair shops. If they tell you "it cant be done in the car", keep looking!

You can find a set of pi heads and cams for around 300. I'd swap those suckers.

Happened to my car a coupe years ago...I was at my girlfriends place at school...a couple hours from home, so I had to solve it quickly. I bought another spark plug...installed it in her parking lot the next day...and its been fine now 2 years later :dontknow:

Didn't get my head re-tapped or anything.

This can be done in the car without too much difficulty. If done correctly, nothing will change and everything will be back to normal. It's not that difficult.

No you just put the hela coil on the new plug then run the plug into the hole. a hela ciol just gives you a lil wider thred. that should stop the plug from coming back out.

Like stated above get a time sert or heli coil or whatever you want to call it. Weld a rod to the piece that cleans up and preps the old threads for the insert to make life a little easier. Install helicoil and put your plug in. Don't worry about the shards of aluminum they will just burn up
