70 mph at about 1500 rpm's sounds right for a 3.08. My car has never been opened up and i have 3.08's so you most likely have them.

that soudns like 2.73s lol. with my stock 3.08s i was right at 2000rpm at 75mph.

Maybe my speedo is off then :( I will have to check on the way to work in the morn. Take into consideration i see 70mph for all of about 2 secs while just getting on the highway for about 1/2 a mile then get off to go to work.

95cvgt, you mileage must be crap, those are high shift points. I ALWAYS shift at 2000rpm or 1950rpm...

didnt buy a gt to expect good gas mileage. haha. but it aint the greatest but im not complaining.

Me neither, I get 18-19mpg and dang proud of it! Just thats a very high shift point for a V8 on everyday driving. Cops would be all over my ass if I tried that, even with a stock exhaust!

if you want to find out for your self. jack the rearend up, rotate the tires 1 revolution(together), count how many times the d.s. rotates. just over 3=3:08, 3 1/2=3:55, 4=4:10's, etc.
Agree... I'm not familiar with your whole setup but it dependes on you at what you want out of your vehicle. If its your DD and you drive some miles or commute the 3.73's will be fine even 4.10's because it all depends on your tire height because of a taller the tire.

4:10's for Drag Racing= Good.
4:10's for Street with a 5.0= bad.

If its a DD go with some 3:55's. Maybe 3:73 if you want 4:10's are just too much with our little 5.0's. on a 4.6 its great all around. IMO.

I completely disagree. I love my 4.10's. Ive driven 3.73's and I had 3.55's before I went to the 4.10's. I still get decent gas mileage and I have a BLAST driving it light to light.

4.10s are great. I love mine

But I'll prolly switch to 3.73s over the summer for going off to college.

I drive 35 miles one way to work every day and 4.10s don't hurt my gas mileage and the pushrod motor is happier at 2500 rpm at 70 mph. You have 3.08's in your car if you're turning less than 2000 rpm at 70. I have a friend who has 3.73's and I put 4.10s in my car and I would definitely choose the 4.10s. The difference in pulling is huge and the difference in rpm is nominal. 5th in my car pulls... his doesn't. My car will still do every bit of 140+ whereas his doesn't pull past 120. Don't fear the gear.

You are correct Sir i get on the highway maybe once a week going to work and it's only for less then a mile so it has been a long time since my car has seen 75mph.
