I was just curious if any one knew but if I was to get drilled rotors and upgraded brake pads would it affect my ABS?

I only ask because the ABS on my stang has saved me before from a disaster on the freeway and I dont want anything to mess with it.

I agree with you, ford mustang gt ABS brakes were not designed to operate at optimal conditions. You see tires generally produce maximum grip when they have 5-10% slip relative to the road. oem abs systems are generally aimed at producing the most Stability, rather than the most braking force, they are generally set at producing 1-2% slip to maintain optimum control. A good driver could maintain their 5-10% slip without ABS. however, there are ABS systems that indepently control each wheel, and are designed to mantain 5-10% slip to offer maximum braking force. I highly doubt any driver could maintain 10% tire slip through out a stopping cycle. escpecially around a road course where you have to compensate for debris, grit, bumps, dust etc. how many times do you see a car lock up one of its tires entering a hair pin or some other turn?. The fact is though, these abs systems are heavy and uneeded, hence why they are not used. But they are much better than a human could ever be.

In Fact, an experienced non-ABS driver can stop faster than a car with ABS

That is not true

any proof proving me wrong?

ABS makes an experienced driver slower because a experience driver that know how to work a car without ABS cans brake harder and later. Braking is very important and can give you an advantage if you know the right time to brake. Driving a car without ABS will train you to brake incredibly fast..... ABS is just for the weak

My GT didn't have ABS, it was optional both front and rear in 97

I could just haul down quickly enough to throw them against the belts. I could lock the brakes though, I did it right before I crashed :slap:

I have no idea, but I did buy mine new in a kit, with Hawk pads, but you should still be able to lock em up if you want. Unless there's another freaky 98 thing preventing it.

An abs system with independant wheel control will own your ass every single time. They are designed to produce maximum braking force at each wheel, something you cannot do handz, im not buying your abs hating bullshit. Go drive a new bmw, and you will find out for yourself.
