ABS is just extra weight in a mustang. it sucks complete asshole and is just another weight i don't need in the front of my car. that is why i sent my unit off so someone could design a ABS delete for my car. A mustang's ABS is just a hair slightly better than a Mustang's IRS, that is the biggest POS ever.

Alot of factory abs systems suck the bum whole. But my point is there are cars like bms, mercedes etc etc that come with finely tuned systems that a human foot cannot match. so to make a general statement like "abs is for the weak" is just plane ignorant.

ABS is cool for Grandma's that cant stop in the Rain. On a track and if your a real driver that know how to brake than ABS will give you a tremendous advantage. ABS is good in the rain but still, NO ABS with an experienced driver will own.

.....The only people who can understand what i am saying are people who have driven a modern car with no ABS or a Race Car Driver

I have no idea, but I did buy mine new in a kit, with Hawk pads, but you should still be able to lock em up if you want. Unless there's another freaky 98 thing preventing it.

Well i got the calipers and rotors off a cobra that was wrecked... i made my own stainless steel brake lines from a race store... cost about 70 bucks after everything including new fitting for the hardline end... I got some carbon matalic brake pads and put them on... only thing i didn't do right was that i reused the stock caliper pin and it has a squeak that is anoing as hell... any idea guys why i can't break it loose? i know this heavy ass vert should break it loose. It will almost touch the nose to the ground and stop in half the distance if not less than the stock set up but it just wont break loose... o and i have 17X9 Cobra R rims with Kumho Supra 255/40 tires...

ABS trys to help you get as close to maximun braking effort, but some systems play it safe, experience will only get you a fraction better. where is all of your proof handz?. show me proof where conventional brakes "own" abs?. im not a big fan of abs either but to say "it is for the weak" is just lame.

You guys all realize that this happened with 8 feet of snow on the ground when the ABS saved me right?
In my own opinion I think a car without ABS is the same as a car with it, but when it comes to winter climate like where im at the ABS is top dog.
iv had to slam on the brakes a few times and I can be pretty shure that on dry roads it doesnt matter if you have ABS or not.
to sum it up the ABS is only really used in bad climate.

Lol, you live in the south. Up here, I've walked out of my office at 6 to find the car covered in snow in the begining of November. And I managed to drive just fine, the whole rear drive in the snow will make you fly off the road and die thing people preach stumps me :dunno:

Well it snowed like 2 inches here before about 2 or 3 years ago and i went to leave my drive way and ended up in the ditch on the other side... and i was easy on it... Guess you just have to know how to drive and not have Summer only tires on it lol.

Tires are the bigest factor. I always hated it though, people would look at me come October and say "what are you gonna drive this winter? You can't drive that!?!?" I didn't want to, salt on my car makes me :rant2:, but people drove rwd for like 80 year's, lol. About 150 lbs in the trunck and some blizzaks and you're in bidness

I've run drilled/slotted rotors for over 6 years. it's fine with the abs.

I wish my car didn't have it, it just shakes the damn car when I want to brake hard.
I mean, regular car with regular brakes on a silppery road, the abs is good.

but an upgaded car with bigger brakes, better tires, and an 11 year old abs, I'd like to take mine off.
I don't drive it in the snow.

I know the feeling of not wanting abs, but where i live, in colorado, its a must have. It may be a bitch thing to have, but its saved my ass from crashing several times in the snow. I do wish i had traction control for the snow tho. I get stuck a lot in the winter.
