you can but if your gonna spend 160 bucks for some rear kits or fronts... just go with the cobra brake upgrade... trust me I hit two cars in the ass end b/c the stock breaks sucks balls... go cobra or leave it stock... there is no helping a 10.6 " rotor and single piston break set up on a 3300 pound car... waist of time.

If nothing else get the calipers off a 99 up car and some good rotors and pads but by then you could have bought a cobra swap

Ebay has some deals, it's like 400 for everything you need. I'll find the link to the place I got mine from if you want to go that route. Otherwise you can get those rotors and some 99-up calipers for a nice upgrade too. And it will be about half the price.

gt rotors and calipers = GAY

Cobra rotors and calipers + halk pads and stainless lines = RAMBO

No seriously i stop in about 1/3 of the distance now. and thats with crappy pads and stainless lines.
I got mine off of ebay for like 200 bucks... came with rotors and calipers and brackets... i had to turn the rotors and build some stainless lines from the race shop... cost about 60 for the lines and 30 for the turning... and like 40 for pads... should have just bought them new then lol.

99+ PBR calipers and rotors with Hawk pads are not gay, and half the price of the Cobra stuff. Obviously Cobra stuff is better, but it's $$$$ too.

You know how "I" am with money and things costing more... if i say that something cheaper is gay then it is gay... brakes is where you need to spend some money at...

I look at it this way... 0-60 + Slow = you lost the race
60-0 + Slow = you just rear ended some women and she is gonna fall out her car screaming that her neck hurts and then you'r gonna get sued and loose a lot of money

I Know from XP!!!!

You could watch where you're going for free :rollinglaugh: J/K dude, I know what you mean, b ut if he can't swing 400 bucks, he can't swing it, I'd rather see him with some kind of upgrade than getting discouraged and getting nothing.

And the 99+ set-up is ALOT better.

yea i know it is probably a lot better... not from xp though, but bigger dual piston calipers even if it is on a 10.6" rotor has to be better. But why not deal with the stock stuff a little longer and go for the extra 100/200 dollars and get the better one right? I know i'm not one to be talking though but shoot

I don't have that car anymore, but I could lock both the stock breaks and my Cobra brakes, if I tried. Mitchell said his Cobra brakes won't lock up. :dunno:

Yea mine won't lock up... but they stop in a damn hurry.... so right now i'm not complaining... but it might have to do with shitty break pads... they were the carbon matalic "performance" ones from autozone...

Ps... i have a old ass MM&FF from like late 90's and it has them in the front of the mag selling the same ones.... o well

don't see why... have 3 people there helping and the fluid never got lower than the min line... and blead the brakes till no air... and its a pretty stiff pedal too.

Hmm, it's really wierd that they don't lock. I mean i had to be pretty aggressive to get them locked, but still.

well i stood on mine till the pedal pushed me back up... and it just didn't lock... it stopped from 65 in like 3 seconds or less... so really really fast but no locking or screaming tires and loss of control...

wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that i have replaced all the bushings in the front with poly bushings and have poly sway bar endlink stuff... just wondering.

If anything, that would make them more likey to lock up, since they are all firm and stuff.
