buy a porter cable dual action buffer and buy any thing from autogeek.net

depending on how bad your paint is you may need to do heavy paint correction

head over to autopia.org if you want to learn

theres differant levels of polish

I use 1z polish and have great results

depending on what color your car is you may want to practice on a lighter color, black and dark colors will show swirl marks the worst

heres a good start for you... go and hand wash it good make sure to get all the dirt and grime off... then use a good car wax with carnauba wax like mothers or mequiars.. Then go over the whole car.. Try that first might have to do it a couple times before getting a decent shine but works good on first try.. I say that cause if you never buff with a real buffer youll mess your paint up and could burn threw it... So try waxing it first thats what i do to all the cars i come across before i have to spend 4 hrs of buffing and using swirl mark remover..lol

depending on how bad the paint is i'll buff it with 1000-1500 grit compound, then use a polish and then finish with a coat of wax.

I need to do the same but scared to touch my car with a buffer i have always done things by hand but the car has been sitting for almost a year now and the paint needs some attention.
