When I was turning a wrench for a living, I had my ASE certs.....for me it is more so the space issue......I have a basic tool set now, as I dont need all of those specialty tools that I had as a tech, and I have no place to put the monster snap on box that I had. Really, living in an apartment with no garage access kinda kills the whole idea of working on the car at your own place.

i bought this car with a H/C/I/vortech. i've since then bought a built 331 bottom end and swapped it out myself. i've paid a buddy to paint the car. I still feel like my car is built not bought. i've torn that top end off so many times i can do it in my sleep now. I've had my side exhuast fabbed up by a shop becuase i don't have the ability to custom bend/cut/weld up the exhuast. but i told him exactly what i wanted and they just made it happen.

bought to me is dropping your gt500 off at shelby and saying make it a super snake. that's bought.

I love working on my car so its not that big of a deal to me but also I dont ever pay retail for anything and I buy everything off craigslist or Corral because there are 5 million other people in the world that already paid retail for a part and there selling it because they need the money so (A) Do what you enjoy to do and (B) dont pay retail for shit .. Corral.net is the BOMB

Building a car to 450rwhp is cheap its when you want to get 600plus is when shit get expensive quick ...

haha! it was probably the most redneck thing i've ever done. the sucky part about that was my dad does own an engine hoist but he loaned it out a guy like 5 years ago and haven't seen it since.

I know that all to well buddy. Happens all the time with tools. I lend out tools from my garage at home but not my shop. I also make my buddies right down on my to do list board there name and what they took. It gets expensive replacing shit all the time

its nothing more then someone makin a reason for them to think they can look down on you. We all have our limits and need to know them. It would be nice to think that everyone did everything on their cars themselfs like he does but I could give a shit less. My motor/mechanical knowledge is not nearly as good as I would like it too be but I know 10X more about stereo/security installations then most.

Yea this world is full of judgemental arrogant ****s. When I built my fox my shop was pinner cluttered full of crap. Most people wouldn't believe I built it in my tiny shop. I could have done it all from home. This is why I think car shows are gay. Because I'm young I don't get the respect for my car building skills and stuff at local shows from these yuppies with there pullied and lowered gt500's and cobras. So I rear rly bother going .
