96 mustang gt 4.6. I understand that these year model stangs and vics have a bad reputation of burning oil around 100k. Well I noticed when I first got the car about 2 months ago a very strong oil burning smell. I figured it was just the car running rich because it has no cats....then I noticed the blue smoke. It does not smoke like crazy 24/7 its only when I shut it off for a few minutes restart it and rev it a little and when the car gets to operating temp and I go to start off it puffs. I don't think its the rings because it doesn't poor smoke. Any ideas? Valve seals, guides, pcv? Anything will help. Thanks guys. Oh and also there is a little oil residue around the pcv area on the driver side valve cover.
