Ok, soyou guys know i exploded my throwout bearing acouple months ago :dancing6: . We got the new clutch/tob installed but used the old un resurfaced flywheel. Anyways at idle you can hear a loud knocking sound coming from the clutch area and it goes away if you put alittle pressure on the clutch. The top part of the clutch travel is loose like a whores private part so im guessing i need a new clutch cable and quadrant to take care of the knocking problem.

Anyways, on the freeway if i have the car in any 2nd.3rd. 4th and i take her to red line i can smell something BURNING and i dont know what it is. ITs not the exhaust and its not tires, so im not sure. Could this be something to do with the knocking? I know i shouldnt get this knocking sound @ idle.

Thanks.

Does it smell like clutch, tranny fluid, or oil?

Our cars have a problem with the crank case ventalating, so sometime oil can come from the dipstick and land on the headers at high rpms

Your tranny could be leaking onto your exhasut

your clutch could be installed wronng or your flywheel needed to be resurfaced
