C4 trans and long headers

Hi, my t5 recently broke and im in the process of building a C4, do you think long headers and a c4 will fit? they are bbk long headers,
I would think it fits but i have heard that some headers dont fit with some transmission.

But can you still use the stock center console when switching to a C4 or does it all need to come out?

ill have to remove it I think, because of the aftermarket shifter,

what c4 are you working with? pan fill or case fill? 157 tooth or 164 tooth?

157 is tiny and will clear just about everything. b/m use to sell a shifter gate kit so you could use the stock shifter with a c4, even a reverse manual valve body one etc. i don't know if it is still available or not though. what you can do is something like i did back when i had a c4 and a power glide. i made a plate to mount the shifter below the trans tunnel then used a quarter stick shifter though the stock shift boot. car at a quick glance still looked like a 5 speed.
