Posting for a friend...

I know a lot of you dudes love the HID kits.

Buddy of mine has a 1996 Cobra and wants to know what the easiest and best HID kit out there for his car.

I know nothing about HID's so I figured you dudes could help out :thumb:

What lights do most of the german cars use? 6000?

10000K is super hot isn't it (temp wise)

He is worried about burning up the inside of the lens since they were not designed for HID's.

Also - 10000 is real blue isn't it? He has to be careful. New Jersey State Police are REAL strict if it looks too aftermarket with headlights. :happydrunks:

It's not the temp that the bulb burns, they burn cooler than the regular headlight bulbs i believe. and yes 10,000K is very blue.

The bulbs do NOT burn at the temperature rating of the bulbs. If I'm not mistaken, the temperature/color rating on HID's is based on the color carbon glows when it is at that temperature, don't quote me on that though. HID's do burn cooler than standard halogens. Mine are something like 30watts I think?

From what I have been told they do burn cooler. i haven't had any problems with mine. My lights aren't very blue...maybe it's because of my lens.As soon as the sun goes down I'll take a pic of them. :)

My pictures sucks I took them with my phone. They look VERY blue. hehe They are not this blue in real life. When I had them installed I had to even make sure they were 10000k because they were not that blue. In real life they are a bright white with a hint of blue. But DAMN in my pic they are BLUE! LOL
