car running super rich ( help )

ok guys i put a walbro 255 pump and now the car its super rich .. i have to change the sparkplugs everyday .. i took off the chip from the computer and is doing the same thing with stock tune and injectors .. also the fan its always on do u guys think the computer its bad ?

With a return style fuel system your going to beable to bring any unused fuel to the tank. You really should get a tune and get that all corrected. I dont know how much of a difference the swap of just he fuel pump will make (when i did mine with cams, and heads) it ran fine, but wouldnt run obviously if it had larger injectors. You may have other issues going on thats causing ti to run rich, I dont think its the pump.

the computer. like above said i had the same problem. Got a good tune from Dan at Pro-Dyno and mine straightened out. And the cooling fan issue. Check your coolant temp sensors. One of mine went bad and caused the fan to stay on all the time. Maybe that helps

possibly. couldnt say for sure. my problem was the sensor. you have to get it tuned so see what it does once you get that done.

well its not gonna hurt anything with the fan running. Just with it running so rich just get some money up and get a good tune. Someone who knows alot about what they are doing. A good tune is worth the money.

i got the money .. but my tuner says that its something else going on with the car .. i told him that all started when i installed the fuel pump

Dont know man. I got 255 24lb injectors and ran stupid rich. took it had a tune put to it to compensate fuel/ air and car runs great.

maybe have to start looking into sticky injectors, o2s, somethings sending a signal to the computer to give the can more fuel.

let me get this straight.

1. The car was running fine

2. You put a 255lph fuel pump in.

3. You changed nothing else.

4 The car now runs super rich.

5. The car is the 96 listed in your sig?

What injectors are on it ? If they are not stock then you have to get a tune or calibrated MAF , hopefully you get a tune because calibrated MAFs are junk

Are you running an FMU , if so you need to check to see if its working properly or disconnect it and see if that fixes it

Or you need to drop the gas tank again and un pinch the return fuel line going to the tank which happens sometimes when people install the fuel pumps and dont pay attention to the fuel lines when the put the tank back under the car ....

PS , from your sig you say 8-10lbs untuned , thats not a good idea so id take that out of your sig and get the car tuned ASAP ....

yes j.r. ............. at the moment i put the fuel pump the car had a tune with 39 injectors .... mafia ... and a fuel pressure regulator ... so i took off the chip from the computer and the fuel pressure regulator and mafia and put the stcok injectors and fpr back and still do the samething ..

Have you checked your fuel pressure at the rails? Your regulator is probably bad.
