what color smoke? when does it do it? at startup, all the time, until it cools off?

did you put sealant where you needed to when you did the swap? was it a new intake, or a used one?

more info will help diagnose your problem, not just "o noes, i swap intake now i gets the smoke, wtf mate?"

yes I put the rtv in the right place . I dont see any leak, or loss of coolant yet . Color is white, or blue I cant tell the different, it smoke very little until engine is warm up, then some time it stop completely, but most of the time it smoke all the time, its a use PI intake. my friends sell it to me because he swap for typhoon intake.

assuming you did the Intake swap correctly, and theres no chance that thats it, white smoke will usually mean your burning oil.

you say your not losing any fluids, but obviosly your burning something, just not at a fast rate, if you say its light smoke.

do a compression test on your car. that will tell you if your leaking anywhere else. you may have rings that are going bad, and just starting to go bad, and your getting a little blow-by and burning some oil. and a compression test will show that.

you also may want to check the mating surface of your intake and gaskets, it may be cut or cracked a bit and letting coolant pass into the intake port.

you can go to Auto Zone, and loan-a-tool a compression tester, i think the one they have is like 20 bucks. when you return it you get your money back. and you can do it in your driveway in about 30 minutes.

you just take out your spark plug, put in the compression gauge, hold the car at wide open throttle, and turn the car over for 5-10 seconds. then repeat for every cylinder, and write down the numbers you get. then post them up here.

take off all the spark plug wires before you start, so the car wont turn over. and dont forget to hold the gas pedal down for every cylinder.

on half way to oreilly, my car suddenly over heat, i smell coolant, so I turn the car off right away. I wait few min until the car cool, then I pull over on the side of the road, I pop the hood, and find out coolant every where on the coolant cap. I look inside the resorvoir, its was empty, I NOTE THEIR IS NO MORE SMOKE COMING OUT THE TAIL PIPE !!! I rev the car up couple time and THEIR STILL NO SMOKE, until I fill the car with coolant, and drive for a min then I note it smoke like before, or even more. do you guy think it the intake problem ?

Be sure to remove all plugs to get accurate reading. Compression from other cylinders, w/ plugs installed, will slow the engines spin during the test. Test each cyl. 3 times and take an average.

I dont see what else it could be, if it only did this after your swap. Somethings wrong. not sure what..

yes its an intake problem. you need to stop driving the car, and remove your PI intake. check it over very good and thoroughly and check your work on the install.

also look at the coolant crossover tube on the intake, where the t-stat goes, and check for a leak there. i would say that if it burned up all the coolant and you had to re-fill it all of a sudden, you need to take a deeper look at the intake and your work. you may have missed something.

and by keeping on driving it, you are running the risk of overheating it and causing alot more damage. did you torque the intake bolts down correctly? did you break any? if you broke any bolts, and are still running the intake without them all being torqued, then you will have coolant getting in the motor because the gasket is not tight. so check all the bolts.

but whatever you do, dont drive it until you get it figured out.

I think I bought the bad intake in the first place, 2 year ago my NPI intake crack, so this guy, he selling me his 03 intake, because he say he upgrade to better one, first he did the swap for me, and it still leak, so I bought the adapter from HPS, my dumbass only using PI gasket, after that the car smoke like a bad head gasket, so I put in some barleak headgasket stop leak, and the smoke go away, so every 4000 miles or so I have to put in another bottle of bar leak sh1t. because my car keep blow coolant out the cap.

after 2 year I finally find out that I need 2 set of gasket with adapter :BangHead:, NPI on the bottem of the adapter and PI gasket on top of the adapter. but it still smoke. so I take it off and do it with only PI gasket and rtv on the corner , I know I got the right place of rtv,

Im on process of buying a NPI intake with aluminum cross over, after this swap, and I still smoke or coolant, imma save up for swap in a PI engine. if not it mean I buy a bad PI intake in the first place. I hope it just the intake.

When my nPI intake cracked, I didn't even consider istalling a PI intake on it. Read about too many sealing, idle quality and low end power problems. Even read things about the injectors being slightly re-directed in the PI intake.

I'm just gonna wait and drop a complete '03-'04 Romeo PI engine down in it. What the hell.
