I pulled into work this morning and the car started to run like shit. What it is doing is running rough and when I give it gas it shakes more. I checked the fuel pressure and it was good and it did not bleed down so it doesnt have a stuck injector. The oil smells like fuel so the only thing that I can think is that it is not getting spark on one or maybe more of the cylinders and the gas is bleeding out of the cylinder and flooding the oil. I have a MSD ignition so I bypassed it and put it back to the stock ignition and it still is the same. I would really appreciate any suggestions or ideas that you guys have. Oh and the quicker I get it fixed the better because I had to leave it at work tonight for fear of spinning a bearing from thin oil. Thanks :crying:

Start with the simple, easy stuff.

Check your sparkplugs. You may have a fouled one. Even before that check to make sure that all your wires are on tight at both ends.

In my experience for everything that goes wrong with a car there is a minimum of 5 things that can cause it. So far I named two. Let's see, what else is there?

3. Did you look under your distributor cap? Maybe a contact in there is corroded or wet.

Ok, your turn to come up with two more. But check these out first, they are simple.

Also don't forget to change your oil after you have it figured out.

I think I have narrowed it down to one of two things or possibly both. When all this started I would start the car and it sounds like a lifter is going flat. I ohmed the coil and it is no good, and it could possibly be that a valve isnt opening fully due to the bad lifter. Here we go another tear down. :tickedoff:

Replace the coil first and see what happens since you know it is bad.
