So i have to get my car inspected by may, which means i can get it inspected now if i want.
my question is, should i put my stock catback on now and get it inspected with that, then put an o/r pipe on, and swap the stock exhaust on every year, or should i get a catted midpipe instead?
i DO have emissions here, so that's why i'm asking this.
i don't have access to a shop that would turn their head on emissions if i ask them to.

This is the exact reason I went with a catted X pipe on my car, no way am I getting under there and swapping pipes every single time the car needs to be inspected

How often do you have to pass emissions?

If it's ever year, i'd just get cats if you don't have a hookup.
In Cali, it's every 2 so I just went catless.

I'll never run a catless exhaust again. theres litterally no reason to smog up the air i breath, risk tickets, bust knuckles every emissions year, reduce resale value, and stink up my ride for a 0 horsepower/ 0 tq gain. eff that.

I agree with MC. Cats don't rob any HP, they'll flow just as well. Catless are much cheaper, but if you gotta do testing every year, just get a catted setup and be done.

the positives i see from it are better sound and cheaper. i doubt i'd get pulled over in a 6er. just remember i don't have a whole lot of money to spend too

if you dont have the money, you dont have the money - get a o/r

when emissions time comes around, buy generic cats for $100.00 and have a shop toss them on - ta da! Catted aftermarket performance exhaust.

Well where I live we dont have emissions and Ive heard the stock cats get clogged up after many years, specially an almost 20 year old car. Should I cut off my cats?

This pretty much sums it up.

Better idea, stop dumping money into your car and just buy mine. Already has all the stuff you want (new paint, catted X, catback, etc) plus then you get a V8!

I made the switch twice a year for 3 years. On the ground, in the driveway, outside.
Finially got tired of it and got a catted x. Much happier now.
On a side note, My butt dyno seems to have felt a loss of low end torque while cattless. I'm also running flow through muffs so there was 0 backpressure. Didn't sound that great either.

I'm hoping mine passes with the gutted cats I have. My stock H was ****ed up by the shady exhaust shop the PO used.
