Turbo the stock motor. Enjoy driving the car, and make up your mind how far you want to go later.

I didn't read the whole thread, I'm a lazy mofo.

Why not just do a 4V swap? If you want the 4V power back, then get a 4V in your car. Personally, I'd test your current motor and see how it's holding up and if it all looks good, throw your parts on and have fun. If you want more, throw a S-trim on it. That gets old, build a 347.

I like the idea of supercharging the stock engine then adding all of the supporting mods...then if you want more power add the h/c/i on the stock shortblock...if you have a afr 165 h/c/i combo plus 10-12psi, you should be around 450-475ish rwhp which will last with a good tune. Then if you want to get crazy you can build a dart 363 with a big h/c/i combo and a blower or turbo...I know thats pretty vague but there is a bunch of good combos to choose from out there.

Ultimately, you're going to have to decide what exactly you want out of the car and go with a proven combo that will get you what you want. Once you figure that out run with it and don't look back. But whatever you do keep the pushrod...I miss the torque of a pushrod motor..

id just go with forged internals on the 302 and add some boost. of course the BEST way to go would be to buy a PI motor and them get a kenneth belle, after all it is the ultimate power adder.

You've got the Cobra for hauling ass, just throw a HCI on it and enjoy the awesome pushrod sound, then pick up a blower for it down the road and make a reasonably reliable and driveable 400whp out of it.

Of course I may be biased as that's my build plan as well.

I just want a huge ole lope :)

Then h/c/i swap...and later add a supercharger when you get the urge for more hp's. I would talk to a cam guru and buy everything through them if you don't feel like sifting through a bunch of good, bad and misinfo that you'll get on the forums. That way you don't end up with a mismatched combo and you won't feel like you half assed anything...
