Chevy S10

So I was sittin at a red light tonight after a Hockey Game and this old school S10 came up next to me. He rolled down his window and looked at me and asked if I had any work done. I said that im mostly stock and he smiled. I asked what he had and he kinda just shrugged. So the light turned green, I launched my car pretty well and put like 6 cars on him. We later were riding down the road at like 60 and he did a three honk start, I down shifted into third and we were kinda together then I started to pull on him again. He pulled over and we chatted a bit. His was a bored out 350 with a 650 cfm Carb (i think thats what he said), Long tubes and flows...

He was surprised to see that I was basically stock. He thought I was blown by the way my car sounds (thats not the first time someone "thought" my car sounded supercharged) Anyway, I said nice truck and he said nice car, then my favorite line came out of his mouth....

"Man, too bad I lost.... to a FORD no less...."

I just started laughing.

well I myself have an 88 s10 that sports a 383. Which I'm not a chevy guy but I don't think its anything special. But I will say all motor will stay with my stang that runs in the 11's on the spray. It was probably some douche bag who thinks his street with no suspension mods and nothing else other than a 350 swap makes him the shit. My truck has a custom four link setup and is strictly track with some light street driving.

i figured by the start of this he had to of done the v8 350 swap.. i got an 87 s10 and i thought about putting a 400 thats sitting in the back of the garage in a crate in mine but decided against it.. but everything would smoke my dinky truck.. 2.5L 4 cyl 4spd geared low for towing torque.. last time i timed it it took me 30 seconds to go from 0-60..

A guy around my town had a 540 ci malibu, but there was too much rust on the body so he ditched the malibu and picked up a s10 pickup and dropped the 540 in it. By just looking at it, the thing looks all stock with the exception of the filter sticking out of the hood

I too have a thing for S10's, before I sold my Blazer I was gonna throw in a 400 that my (at the time)fiance's father had sitting around in it, but then I woke up one day and bought my 95 GT. The rest is history.

Ford guys, where it takes a complete heads cam and intake package just to beat a stock 350.
