I have always wondered if Chicago would be a cool place to live.

The people I have met both from chicago and texas both never have anything bad to say about the area other then they miss it and would go back if they could. I have a buddy that moved up there last year and he has liked it so far but moving from the stix in indiana to any city is exciting for a while. I would not want to deal with the winters but the rest of the year it is a nice city.

I just hate how everytime I go to Chicago for work I get bent over and taken advantage of in taxes. For example I have paid lower rental car taxes renting out of LAX then I do at O'Hare

Add to that the Chicago area dining tax rates vs. surrounding Chicago dining tax rate, lower Wacker driving an ex-cop car dressed in black suits wearing sunglasses taxes, etc

It is and expensive city but its also got a lot to do and is very interesting as well. Ive got a co worker who lives there (in Algonquin) and works here and he loves it there (originally from Pittsburgh)

Yeah, but I would be Moving from Los Angeles To Chicago..... So its comparing Chicago to the Culture capital of the west coast.

I could see myself getting tired of Los Angeles in about 2 years.... Los Angeles is great but i need to see more of this country by living somewhere else. Chicago always seemed appealing for some reason.

One thing I do love about Chicago suburbs, El Famous burrrito, that place rocks. I go there anytime I am even remotely close.

Very nice pics.

Handz I'd say Chi-town is only slightly better then Comi-fornia. I lived on/off in Lisle, IL for a while (one of the suburbs to the west) and didn't like it. Went back to WI. Then again I'm not a big city kinda guy and all the rules and bullshit I couldn't stand. Emissions testing?? Not being able to carry my firearm??? Tolls??? I still visit from time to time to hang out with friends and go to the museum/aquarium and such. The deep dish pizza is damn good.
