Well I decided I should also finally do a build thread. Just a warning my first couple posts will be pretty long so I can get everyone up to speed. Ok I got my car last year at the end of August, right before Ford Carlisle. I traded my 84 notchback mustang even up for it. It was pretty well stock except for some sort of aftermarket shifter handle and someone welded in a set of flowmasters. It also had some ridiculous graphics on the side that I spent all night taking off before I left for Carlisle.

From the day I got the car the clutch pedal was super stiff but I didnt have time to mess with it( looking back I probably could have saved my t45 had I jumped on fixing the problem sooner). By the way anyone considering a UPR adjustable clutch cable kit, run far far away from it. Anyways I ended up getting a bbk cold air intake in a trade for my stock air box. I also added a bbk offroad x-pipe(another bad decision, weird echo sound), a flowmaster 2.5" exhaust, bbk progressive rate lowering springs, and 4.30 gears. I tried to baseline run it at the local dragstrip and ended up busting the 3-4 shift fork in my t45 so I never got to see what I could get out of it before my current round of mods. Enough babbling this is what my car looks like right now.

I picked my PI heads up from the machine shop yesterday

While they were there I had them add these in preparation for some comp 270ahs

You should look into the billet shift forks for it,they are significantly better and not a set had broke yet.they run about 300 bucks then the trans is pretty stout unless u upgrade the input to 26 spline too then you pretty well indestructible.check out thesource.

That's the plan, those forks are awesome but I want to tear it down first to see what else is broke. Once the holidays are over im hoping to get everything ordered.

those springs are good, you will love the cams, and good job. Odd choice how you ended up with windsor heads but good luck. Make sure you have windsor valve covers... A good tune and youll be around my 304/310

I like this build. Car looks like mine did prior to me effing it up :)

Thanks Duff! I ended up with those heads because my original plan was to put a 5.4 in my car and I had bought a complete 01 expedition engine. After researching I decided to just put the heads on.

Is there any reason I should upgrade my fuel pump and injectors with the combo I'm planning? I will most likely be dropping the longtube header idea for now. So it will just be ported PI heads, comp 270s, PI intake, and I dont know what tb and elbow yet(suggestions?). Plus I have an o/r x pipe with the flowmaster cat back.

you shouldn't have to upgrade the pump but obviously it won't hurt anything. I'd run FRPP 24#'ers with those mods, generally the limit is around 300rwhp on the 19# injectors. As for TB and elbow, I'd just find yourself an Accufab or Dragon Plenum cheap and a 70mm throttle body to go along with it.
