My clutch went out again. This time I was heading home and I noticed it seemed to be slipping a little bit. Went a couple more miles and it was getting worse, then I came up to a redlight and about freaked out because I wasn't sure if it was going to make it out of the middle of the road, the clutch wasn't grabbing, it was like I had the pedal pushed in a little. So went a little bit further and it was just gone, there was nothing. So we got it pulled over and its sitting at the local co-op. I don't know how in the world it could have went out, we just had it replaced 5 months ago with a King Cobra clutch and all that, something doesnt seem right. I don't know, maybe I jsut drive like shit, but even then, 5 months seems a little short. What do you guys think?

Did you replace or resurface the flywheel??? Replace the pilot bearing and TO bearing ???? Did you adjust the clutch or put in a aftermarket cable ???

I had a shop do it. Ordered the King Cobra Clutch kit from American Muscle and they put it in and resurfaced the flywheel. The kit comes with the TO bearing so I'm sure they changed it. I don't think they put in an aftermarket cable.

It might not be the clutch. It could very well be the old cable stretching under the stress of a new clutch.

The thing is if he you have the clutch disengauged like your trying to go and the car isn't going anywhere, thats not the cable, thats the clutch. If the clutch is fully in and engaged and your foot is totally off the pedal and the car just sits there, you need a clutch.

Not always..... if a clutch cable is streached out it would be causing the same thing. Like for instance you can put in a new clutch but you always have to adjust the cable. Well you always want to. Just this last time when i put in my clutch i tried for the hell of it to see if i wouldn't have to adjust the cable. Well sure enough i had the clutch fully engaged and it hardly moved. Adjust the clutch Cable and voi lah perfect good as new.

Yea but thats because the cable is to tight, and won't engage the clutch. His clutch was working, and its not like the cables going to tighten itself up magically lol. The cables stretch, and thats about it. It may have been an improperly adjusted clutch cable that killed your clutch man

Yeah agree they might not have done it properly. How many miles have you put on it. ?? Did they order the clutch and put it in ??? Or did you take the part to them and they put it in??

So do you guys think it could have been the shop's fault for it going out this soon? Iunno if maybe I just suck some ass at stick (which I doubt, but you know...) but it seems like a clutch should last longer than 5 months.
