The more I think about this, the more I begin to wonder...

I had my clutch changed out 5 months ago to a King Cobra Clutch kit. I had a local shop that we've sent everything to, and they put it in, and it was great. Last weekend, it went out. It started slipping a little, and got worse and worse, and was gone in 10 minutes. The same shop also had the tranny out a few weeks ago rebuilding my tranny. Someone in the last thread I had thought that maybe they didn't adjust it right the first time, and that could ahve been why it went out so fast... could it have been from the last trip to the shop? I don't drive my car like a granny, but at the same time, I don't think I'm that bad of a driver that the clutch would be gone in 5 months, especially one that is suppose to be stronger than stock. What do you guys think?

Stock and stock. The guys from before thought it might be the cable... I don't know.

Either the friction disc was defective, or the pressure plate was not sufficiently clamping or fully engaging the disc, causing premature failure. If you have a stock cable and quadrant, that is indeed pretty weird.

So it could have just been a defective clutch? Could the clamping issue been from it not being adjusted right?

I have no problem paying for stuff that's my own fault, but this doesn't seem right at all, and I know that no matter what, its gonna bite me in the ass.

Every now and then I would, but I never realized what it was... It was bad right before it went out.

no warranty that kinda stuff. Your car doesn't leak massive amounts of oil does it? Contaminated clutch disc will do it too. If you have a stock cable adjustment wouldn't be an issue...cables do stretch but you'd have prob getting into gears w/ that.

My car barely leaks any oil in between changes... I don't know what to do. I guess it was just a bad clutch or something. I'm just gonna have to save up for a couple weeks to get this paid for. daaannngggiiittttt

That's the first thing I though, you may have sprung a leak somewhere.

I don't know if anything was dirty but I'm guessin it wasn't. Just wanted to say that I can still put the car into heat and all that... Does that change anything?

The only time it slipped was literally minutes before it went out. When everything was put together at the shop, everything looked good. I haven't taken it back yet, I literally have $0. Are there any ways I can check for a leak? If it is a leak, where would it be coming from to get on the clutch?

I checked yesterday and it was low on oil, so that seems to be it. Now I've just got to figure out where it is and how much its gonna cost me so I can get the money saved up.

Get under it and look right where your bellhousing meets the block you will see a small square hole. If you see a good bit of oil there then you probably have a oil leak.
