Hey guys. I just put a new centerforce df in my car which is amazing by the way. Anyway I did the pedal pull adjustment then the pedal got heavy and now won't completely engage. And it smells bad and cooked. I have less than 5000 miles on it so if I glazed it over is there anything I can do to fix or am I buying another. Thanks for any and all help

Buying another if its glazed. Turn the flywheel, check the pressure plate for the condition etc. I would see if somethings hanging up in there. Did you turn the flywheel, and clean it properly before throwing the clutch on there? Clutches are super sensitive to grease and dirt on the flywheels if its not cleaned well

The flywheel was machined before install of new clutch. Is there any way to like drive the glaze off...like forward to reverse.... Wear the glaze off perhaps

Lol. Pretty positive that won't work. Once you've messed it up, its generally messed up. Hate to say it, but if its legitimately glazed I would have to pull it back apart. Or else my "Do it right" alarm would annoy me to death in my head.

Ya...I paid 400 for the clutch and 500 for Aamco to install. This morning it was barely catching but I have been trying to drive it off and it seems to be grabbing better. I don't have too many options as of right now.

before bolting pressure plate/clutch on flywheel, use brake clean. check routing of cable too if it was replaced.

It very well could be something else. I'd rule all other options out before pulling it back down, but needless to say it's looking like its not going to end well

No it ain't. I got another clutch and aluminum flywheel coming but it's gonna be a couple weeks. Live and learn. Parts break when you decide to race. Gotta pay to play. Doesn't matter I still love er. Thanks for helpin me out

I was agreeing that it wasn't going to end well...I just re-read what inwrote and I guess I dint make it clear. The above poster wrote it doest look like it would end well and I was agreeing that it wasn't goin to. I have tried to adjust quad, checked cable and there is no slack in in it so it looks like I am gonna have to drop tranny. Not looking forward to it but that's racing. Breaking parts is part of the game. I do appreciate all the responses. Thanks for the input guys

reset the adjuster. the clutch is probably fine. i bet you just pulled it too far to the point that its not completely disengaging. pull the pedal up and lift the ratcheting mechanism, let go of the pedal then just push it a few times to get the right feel.
