Okay, so i have a 97' v6 with approx. 114000 miles on her. I was going hard in 1st gear, got up to about 6000 rpm and pushed the clutch in hard to shift (I was going up against my friend's single cam civic and a Camry) but when i pulled out of first the car made a bang and then i was stuck in neutral, the clutch petal was flimsy and there is a noise coming from the middle of the body kind of like a playing card stuck in between spokes of a tire. I can't go into any gear unless the car is off. I just got a new clutch plate installed and the flywheel resurfaced... Any ideas?

Thanks,

i had a bad day today-and then i read this post..and started laughing..you are driving.a 97 stang-like it is a real car.with a real motor and trans-you got it tacking-up high..and you are racing-two other sissy cars.a civic and a camry..want a b cars..and you slam the clutch pedal in--you are lucky-the whole damn-clutch and transmission.didnt rip loose and come up-in to the car..these cars of today-are not real cars.everything in them-is light duty.sounds.like you just trashed..the clutch and the trans..the light duty trans..uses.automatic trans fluid.they burn up-like talking about it.you may of broke a shaft and gears..if the car.had a hydralic.system-those things.could of blown out.you just.crapped.a pile load of money..these cars.are made for driving-not racing..--keep it stock

please dont bring this "keep it stock" and "cars of today are horrible" jargon into my section. members will make their own decisions on how to use their cars.

and it is quite contradicting of you to tell everyone to keep their cars stock, and then you post this telling to turbo their V6:

way would you want to,install one of those big chain-over head cam motors..a motor.that looses horse power..because.of those big chains and cams..when you could build a 3.8 v6..to 300 horse power..put in a stall converter..i have seen a lot of good things.about these v6 engines..turn it in to a high horse power roller motor.put a turbo on it..there are so many things.that you can-do to the v6.what i have seen-of the big.rock-dead weight-4.6v8..i would not want that motor..i would go back to the iron.302-or 351..before i would.have that.paper weight junky motor--big big waste of money
