Clutch?

I've noticed my car being harder to shift lately, hesitating to go into gear and grinding occasionally when shifting hard(shifts fine just cruising around). I tried to do the auto adjust on my clutch cable and it wouldnt click so I looked under my dash and there are no more teeth left on my quadrent for the auto adjust to work. Does this mean my clutch is ready to be replaced and could this be my shifting problem? Thank you...

Does it "hesitate" or clash in all gears? Or just one or two?

Its not consistant but it happens in all gears. If I drive slow it never grinds but still call feel like a wall(hessitates) before it goes into gear. When I shift hard it dosnt always grind the same gears and it still gives me that wall effect when I shift, esspecially 3rd.

Also, a while back I had a guy look at the same clutch because i was having similer problems. We found that a few of the teeth on the pressure plate where bent. He said that was my prob and we bent them back and it seemed to help the problem. Did I just answer my question? I still want to know why there isnt anymore adjustment left in it.

Hmm...it could be a stretched clutch cable, I've seen that cause the same issue. I can't tell you what way to go, but I would replace the cheaper cable first before replacing the clutch.

The cables can wear out. I was riding with a friend of mine at Fun Ford Weekend in Atlanta on the True Street drive. When we pulled back into the pit area and he pushed in the cluth the cable snapped. He was running a mild King cobra setup as well.

stock clutch cable?

Yes it is the stock clutch cable. The car has 92k on it and ive been running this heavy duty clutch for years.

Get yourself an aftermarket cable, quadrant, and adjuster - $100 and a few hours of work. Then re-diagnose from there.
I'm not sure I'd trust a clutch that had bent PP fingers that were "bent back" in the first place.

Slipping in high gear?
Pull up the e-brake at a stop. Put shifter in third. Slowly slip the clutch out no gas.
If car does not stall, clutch is horribly failed.
