So I was bored at work yesterday and price myself what I think is an entire cobra brake upgrade. What do I need besides Calipers, Rotors, Hoses, and the anti rattle clips? I know brake pads but those ill get else where. Do I need new caliper brackets? Without pad and not returning cores on the calipers I was up to 300-400 bucks. I could get 100 back if I find some junk cobra calipers. I figured this was a better deal than buying a $600 kit offline, Especially since the rotors, calipers, and pads if i choose would have lifetime warrentys.

Sounds like everything to me. The kits are nice because you don't have to piece it all together and it's all brand new stuff too.

94/95's should need to replace the master cylinder. Otherwise you'll have a stiff brake pedal. It'll be driveable with the oem master but you won't like it.

I actually had a cobra upgrade on my 95Gt and to be honest with you I liked the pedal feel better with the Gt master than I do on my 96 Cobra... Im used to it now! but my braking felt a little more responsive with the old style master cylinder vs. the hydroboost!

So the front caliper brackets on a gt will work on a cobra? I would still prefer having a lifetime warr. on all my stuff. Whats wrong with a reman cobra caliper? Besides it not red, I can do that myself.

i'm not talking about hydraboost systems.
The 94/95 gt master cylinder piston is a different size that the cobra master cylinder piston.
So the 94/95 cobra swap kits include the cobra master cylinder piston.

Well i priced it all today at work and I can get brakes, pads, rotors, calipers, and hoses for just over 200 bucks. So are the rear callipers the saame as the GT and its just a different bracket and rotor? Thanks for the help.

yes, rear requires a different bracket and anti moan bracket, then the larger rotor. I did this on my fox, cobra brakes all around, and loved it. I needed to change power brake boosters tho, pedal was stiff because of the larger pistons in the m/c I put on it.

So this is where im at. I have located most all of the parts
Front pads:29.00
Front rotors:51.55/ea
Front calipers:31.97/ea
Front hoses:8.15/ea
Rear Pads: 19.99
Rear rotors: 30.47/ea
Rear Hoses: 7.65/ea

there isn't one parts store in SoCal that carries cobra calipers. Back when I had my v6, I bought the calipers through rock auto for $150 a pop. then sent them my Single piston calipers back from the v6 and got $150 refund lol. Shit worked flawlessly.
