Cobra cam vs GT cam

I read somewhere that the GT cam is different and better than the Cobra cam. In other words, the GT cam will actually make more power than the Cobra cam in the same engine. Could there possibly be any truth to this?

It is true! On the cobra's they had 1.7 ratio rocker arms where gt's had a 1.6. Ford made a smaller cam for the cobra, and the rocker arms actually is where the extra power comes from.

I have no intentions of changing. I just wondered if, since the GT cam has better power, but I'm running 1.6 rockers in mt GT40 heads, am I making more or less power than the 95 Cobra? Obviously, if the Cobra cam was better, I would know that I'm not making the same power. I am planning to put a KB on it in the future so I'll be staying with the stock GT cam though.

buy a custom cam tailored to the rest of your setup.
